Even though Russia is a far-off neighbor and NATO, which Ukraine is not a part, the research will show in this thesis why it is crucial to relating European security to the border incidents in Ukraine. Since the beginning of the confrontation between Russia and Ukraine, the Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been unwavering in its backing for the globally renowned boundaries and the national sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Illegal legitimate annexation Crimea by Russia in March 2014 was swiftly denounced by the Allies, and they have reaffirmed time and time again. They denounced as well the purposeful eastern Ukraine, which was becoming more unstable brought on by Russia's military intervention and militant support. The Ukraine crisis has emerged as a true change in Euro-Atlantic safety since some influential Western leaders started debating changes to the fundamentals of European defense policy. NATO must continue to pay attention, take part in, and respond to the Ukrainian crisis because it has altered the security environment in Europe.
