Institute of Graduate Studies and Research Chemistry N2 - Silver nanoparticles were produced using an efficient, eco-friendly, and biosynthetic method involving leaf extracts from Malva Sylvestris and Lantana Camara. The costeffective and eco-friendly process of synthesizing silver nanoparticles using plant extracts has attracted considerable interest. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized in this study by combining silver nitrate solution with aqueous and ethanolic leaf extracts, resulting in the reduction of Ag+ ions and the production of silver nanoparticles. The silver nanoparticles produced through biological synthesis were analyzed using several techniques. UV-Vis spectroscopy was used to detect the creation of silver nanoparticles, showing unique UV absorption peaks between 300 to 600 nm. The face-centered cubic structure of synthesized crystalline silver nanoparticles was confirmed using X-ray diffraction patterns, while SEM was utilized to analyze the morphology and size of the silver nanoparticles. Zeta potential is used to measure the surface charge and potential stability of silver nanoparticles in solution. To identify the functional groups responsible for NPs stabilization Fourier, transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used. These characterizations provide a thorough understanding of the physicochemical properties of biosynthesized silver nanoparticles. Their antibacterial and catalytic activities demonstrate their potential for diverse biomedical and environmental uses. The manufacture of silver nanoparticles by using leaf extracts from Malva Sylvestris and Lantana Camara is practical, environmentally beneficial, and serves as an alternative to conventional methods. The synthesized silver nanoparticles preparations demonstrate potential for use as broad-spectrum antibacterial agents and catalysts. This research contributes to the increasing knowledge on green production techniques for nanoparticles and their various uses ER -
