Institute of Graduate Studies and Research Business Administration N2 - The banking industry is a very critical industry in Nigeria because it contributes a great deal to the national economy. Both organizational climate and organizational culture are critical to how the bank employees would be committed to the bank. In this era of global competitiveness, a high level of commitment is needed from bank employees so as to enable the bank compete and break even in the industry. This then demands a comprehensive study of the roles of organizational climate and culture, to see how bank managers would leverage it to get more commitment from the bank staff. In view of this gap, the present study aims at examining the dual role of organizational climate and organizational culture on organizational commitment in Nigeria. The findings of this study provide insights into how banks operate and the dynamics within them. Specifically, the study highlights the significance of organizational culture, organizational climate and organizational commitment. Interestingly, the study reveals that there is a moderate level of culture indicating that employees experiences have influenced a set of norms that shape their interactions. Additionally the study indicates an organizational culture with some challenges in identifying contributing factors. However it emphasizes the importance of having an supportive work environment. Using 198 bank employees in Zenith bank, Access Bank and First Bank of Nigeria, quantitatively, the result of this study revealed that high a high level of organizational commitment among bank employees. Also, it established that organizational climate and organizational culture have an influence on organizational commitment. The implications of this study provides insights for bank managers, guiding them on how to improve working conditions, recognize the impact of organizational culture and deliberately intercede for the success of the organization.
