<br/><br/> 'The aim of this study is to investigate the most frequently made errors in the essays written by Turkish learners of English language and to suggest some solutions to help students recover their errors. The study aims to find out the answers to the following research questions; What are the common errors that students make in their essays? Is the frequency of interlingual errors higher than intralingual errors?. Essays written by the students of Cyprus International University who were studying at different levels (Intermediate/Upper--Intermediate/Elementary) were collected throughout one academic term for error analysis. This study was carried out at Preparatory school of Cyprus International University. 150 essays collected from three different classrooms were analyzed in relation to the theory of Error Analysis. A detailed classification of the most common errors, their analysis and the comparison of the total number of interlingual and intralingual errors are given place in this study. The most significant result of the study was that the frequency of intralingual errors outnumbered the interlingual errors in students\' writing compositions.  Keywords: Error Analysis, Interlingual, Intralingual, Students\'s Written Output  Bu çalışmanın amacı öğrencilerin yazdığı kompozisyonlarda sık karşılaşılan hataları incelemek ve bu hataları gidermek için bazı teknikleri önermektir. Çalışma aynı zamanda şu araştırma sorularını cevaplamayı hedeflemektedir: Öğrencilerin kompozisyonlarında sıkça yaptıkları hatalar nelerdir? Anadil etkisinden kaynaklanan hataların görülme sıklığı amaç dil öğrenme sürecinden kaynaklanan hatalardan daha fazla mıdır? Farklı seviyelerde İngilizce eğitimi görmüş öğrencilerin yazmış olduğu kompozisyonlar bir akademik dönem sürecince toplanmıştır. Bu çalışma Uluslararası Kıbrıs Üniversitesi Hazırlık Okulunda yürütülmüştür. Üç farklı sınıftan yüzelli kompozisyon biraraya getirilmiş ve Hata Analizi tekniğiyle analiz edilmiştir. Sıkça yapılan hataların ayrıntılı bir şekilde sınıflandırılması, bu hataların analizi ve anadil etkileşimi sonucu ortaya çıkan hataların görülme sıklığı anadilden bağımsız olan hatalarla karşılaştırılması bu çalışmada yer almaktadır.
