N2  - 'Abstract  Since the mid-1960s', Cyprus dispute has taken the centre stage in international politics. The conflict between the Turkish and Greek communities of Cyprus can be traced back at least to the Greek Cypriot mobilization for enosis in the 1950s. Since then, the Island has been split into two, namely North Cyprus dominated by the Turkish and South Cyprus dominated by the Greeks. In its quest towards achieving European integration, European Union has been heavily involved in re-uniting the divided Island through dialogue. However, in 2004 the EU went ahead to accord Cyprus (Greek South) full membership status at the expense of the Turkish Cypriot community in the North. This research begins by taking a historic rundown of events on the Island. Chapter two lays emphasis on the various works of seasoned scholars in the understanding of the concept of Europeanization and theories of European integration. The third chapter gives details on the Euro Aid Programme in North Cyprus. In chapter four, the researcher adopts interview technique to ascertain the validity of the Euro Aid Programme in Turkish Cypriot community. The final chapter discusses the challenges confronting the success of the Euro Aid Programme. The research gives a positive pointer that indeed the Euro Aid Programme has brought the Turkish Cypriot community closer to EU. However, the programme on its own cannot bring about the unification of the divided Island. The research shows that Intergovernmentalism as a theory perfectly fits into the behaviour of the major actors in the Cyprus Question. The research ends that with more concerted efforts by the various actors, European integration of Turkish Cypriots into the European Union is achievable. Özet  1960'lı yıllardan günümüze Kıbrıs uyuşmazlığı uluslararası siyasette önemli bir yere sahiptir. Kıbrıslı Türkler ve Kıbrıslı Rumlar arasında süregelen uyuşmazlık tarihsel olarak 1950'li yıllarda Kıbrıslı Rumların Enosis (Adanın Yunanistan'a bağlanması) fikrine dayanmaktadır. Kıbrıs adası bugün Kıbrıslı Rumların yönettiği Güney Kıbrıs ve Kıbrıslı Türklerin yönettiği Kuzey Kıbrıs olarak - de facto - ikiye bölünmüş durumdadır. Ada'nın Kıbrıs Cumhuriyeti adı altında 1990 yılında Avrupa Birliği'ne (AB) tam üyelik başvurusu ve 2004 yılındaki üyelik sürecinden bu yana AB, Kıbrıs uyuşmazlığına müdahil olmuştur. Bu çerçevede, tezin temel amacı 2004 yılında adanın AB'ye tam üye olması ile birlikte Kıbrıslı Türklerin Avrupalılaşması konusunda bir çözümleme ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda; AB'nin Yeşil Hat Tüzüğü'nü yürürlüğe koyması ve beraberinde Mali Yardım iv Tüzüğü (Euro-Aid Programme) kapsamında Kıbrıslı Türklerin AB kurum ve müktesebatına uyumunu sağlamaya yönelik bir dizi çalışmaları bulunmaktadır. Bu noktada, bu çalışma Ada'nın 2004 yılında AB'ye tam üye olarak dahil edilmesinin ardından, adanın kuzeyinde yaşayan Kıbrıslı Türklerin Avrupalılaşması sorunsalını Yeşil Hat Tüzüğü ve Mali Yardım Tüzüğü ele alınarak kuramsal bir çerçevede değerlendirmektir.
