Due to the recycling process's advantages for the environment, more stakeholders are
paying attention to it. Experiments on how people behave when it comes to recycling
electronic waste and how this affects attaining environmental sustainability, however,
have not been thoroughly studied. This is particularly true in developing nations like
the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which is situated on the Asian continent. In this
study, we used an extended framework of the Theory of Planned Behaviour to
examine how the public acts on the desire to recycle electronic trash and its effect on
attaining environmental sustainability. The research model was investigated using
structural equation modeling, and a sample questionnaire was distributed to
university students in Amman, the country's capital. The findings of our research
demonstrated that the intention of young customers to recycle positively influenced
their sentiments. Further analysis of our data showed that while behavioral control
had a large influence on young customers' intentions to recycle e-waste, subjective
standards had a considerable positive impact on those of younger consumers.
Furthermore, we discovered that the influence on the intention to recycle e-waste is
moderated by behaviors and per capita monthly income. Lastly, our research adds to
our understanding of how the public perceives environmental sustainability,
particularly among young people, who make up the majority of the population in
Amman. This perception influences their behavior, which in turn influences their
intention to recycle electronic waste, which in turn affects the reduction of
environmental degradation.
