Konu(lar): Özet: 'ABSTRACT The global share from buildings towards energy usage in residential and commercial buildings has been increasing constantly to 40%. Commercial and governmental buildings, such as universities, cover 70% of this total. Cyprus International University had vision to carry out an energy efficiency study in its Campus for a long time. CIU realized many different projects with this vision, such as installation of a large Photovoltaic power plant, construction of a smart building which includes BIPV technology, Solar Chimneys, energy efficient appliances, shading objects...etc., and now a biogas project. However, the university did not consider the evaluation and improvement of the existing buildings in the meaning of energy consumption yet. This project is the initial step of such a big energy evaluation study which will cover over 100.000 m2 building area when completed. The aim of the study is to evaluate the energy consumption of buildings, compare these values with the standards and propose possible improvement activities with feasibility calculations. Additionally, proposed measurements and calculated results will be combined with the real values. In order to achieve this project a methodology was designed and the steps of evaluation beginning with initial building audit till possible conservation measures reflected clearly. Also, a building in the CIU campus was selected as a case study and an energy evaluation process parallel to the proposed methodology was applied. It is found that the building has great energy efficiency potential and some energy conservation measures are proposed to decrease the consumption to the accepted levels. It is found that 36,000 kWh/year decrease in Air-Conditioning load could be realized by just changing windows frames and implementation of roof insulation. Also, 10,200 kWh/year energy could be conserved by installation of LED fixtures and 20,000 kWh/year could be mitigated by Smart system control and education for using electrical equipment inside of the building. In addition to the technical analysis, a financial feasibility study was carried out and it is found that thermal insulation and illumination measures are feasible but windows replacement is infeasible with total 27,408 $ annual saving. Keywords: Energy efficiency, Energy audit, Energy Management, Large educational buildings.   '
