ABSTRACT
In this study, we investigate a key question: how transformational leaders influence their employees (CSR) practices? This investigation went in depth to the level of searching for mediators and moderators behind this relation. Therefore, we created a moderated mediation model that focused only on (OCB) and the demographic variables. This model hypothesized the following: (TLS) is positively related to (CSR) practices, (OCB) mediates the relationship between (TLS) and (CSR), the demographic variables operates as a moderator by amplifying the relationship between (TLS) and (OCB) and consequently (CSR), and finally, the demographic variables operates as a moderator by amplifying the positive relationship between (TLS) and (CSR). After establishing the psychometric properties of this integrative measure, the main hypotheses were tested where the results showed no significant direct effect of (TLS) on (CSR). However, the study found that (TLS) only exerts an impact on (CSR) through the mediation of (OCB) and this impact of (TLS) on (OCB) is moderated by only some demographic variables which is the type of university. This means that the demographic variables can moderate the relationship between (TLS) and (CSR) via the mediation of (OCB) where the higher the levels of the demographic variables, the higher the influence of (TLS) on (OCB) and consequently on (CSR).More importantly, the mediating effect was along with our expectation or what came in literature, though the moderating was fully contrary to what we expected, as there is no single study that did so, especially when it came to the fact that only some of the demographic variables can moderate the relationship, our study contributes to a better understanding for the mechanisms of increasing (CSR) practices and open a new door for the moderated mediation impacts.
