'ABSTRACT The purpose of the present study is to investigate to what extent Libyan prospective Hebrew teachers\' level can comprehend implicatures. To this end, 90 student participants completed a 14-item multiple-choice test to measure their ability to comprehend implicature. The scores of the student participants were compared and analyzed according to descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the comprehension data analysis indicated that the student participants had a low level of success. Although the student participants were studying in the English Department but faced difficulty in comprehending implicatures. Furthermore, the findings illustrate all the student participants who had been in English speaker countries, who had contact with native speakers, and who had following broadcasts in the English language. These participants have the ability to understand conversational implicatures and these the student participants answered most of the questions correctly on the research questions provided in the questionnaire.
