ABSTRACT
The increasing awareness of environmental concerns has led to an associated demand for the implementation of sustainable standards in construction management initiatives and the construction sector at large. The construction sector is widely recognized for its substantial environmental footprint, characterized by the generation of greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and pollution, among other factors. The objective of this study is to integrate the sustainable principles in construction management initiatives and the wider sector, emphasizing the advantages and obstacles associated with this endeavor.
This study aims to review a range of sustainable strategies that can be incorporated into construction endeavors, including but not limited to the utilization of renewable energy resources, eco-friendly building components, and effective waste disposal
methods. This paper provides information about the adoption of sustainable criteria in construction projects and construction sector in developed and developing countries, as well as the significance of collaborative efforts and effective communication in attaining sustainable results. The study's findings suggest that the incorporation of sustainable criteria in construction management initiatives and the construction sector is imperative in advancing ecological and societal accountability, curtailing expenses, and enhancing the well-being of communities over an extended period.

ÖZET
Çevresel endişelere ilişkin artan farkındalık, inşaat yönetimi girişimlerinde ve genel olarak inşaat sektöründe sürdürülebilir standartların uygulanmasına ilişkin bir talebe yol açmıştır. İnşaat sektörü, diğer faktörlerin yanı sıra sera gazı emisyonları, atık ve kirlilik oluşumu ile karakterize edilen önemli çevresel ayak izi ile geniş çapta tanınmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sürdürülebilir ilkeleri inşaat yönetimi girişimlerine ve daha geniş sektöre entegre etmek ve bu çabayla ilgili avantajları ve
engelleri vurgulamaktır. Bu çalışma, yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının kullanımı, çevre dostu bina bileşenleri ve etkili atık bertaraf yöntemleri dahil ancak bunlarla sınırlı olmamak üzere, inşaat çabalarına dahil edilebilecek bir dizi sürdürülebilir
stratejiyi incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu makale, gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkelerde inşaat projelerinde ve inşaat sektöründe sürdürülebilir kriterlerin benimsenmesi ve sürdürülebilir simulacra ulaşmada işbirlikçi çabaların ve etkili iletişimin önemi hakkında bilgi vermektedir. Çalışmanın bulguları, sürdürülebilir kriterlerin inşaat yönetimi girişimlerine ve inşaat sektörüne dahil edilmesinin, ekolojik ve toplumsal hesap verebilirliği ilerletmek, harcamaları azaltmak ve uzun bir süre
boyunca toplulukların refahını artırmak için zorunlu olduğunu göstermektedir.
