520 _aABSTRACT Telemedicine patently is one of the foremost dynamic and evolving fields of information technology (IT) in healthcare. From the works of research and establishments towards an accustomed clinical exertion of telemedicine software, arbitrators request certain data on the effect a far-reaching use will create on the formation and procedures required in healthcare. Globally, healthcare organizations have increasingly taken interest in gaining and enforcing the usage of telemedicine in order to ameliorate or lengthen patient care and services. The study evaluated the perceived effects and challenges of telemedicine among healthcare professionals in the delivery of healthcare within the healthcare organization. The study research answered two research questions. The study population was two hundred and two (202) healthcare professionals (Doctors and Nurses), with a sample size of two hundred and two (202) respondents comprising of 72 doctors and 130 nurses. The use of descriptive statistics i.e., standard deviation and mean were examined to retort to the research questions while chi-square were applied in testing the null hypotheses at a significance level of 0.05. Reliability test was examined for testing the internal consistency by measuring the prime constructs of the selected items. All examined constructs showed an alpha value of or greater than 0.7. The findings within the study revealed telemedicine exerts twenty (20) perceived effects in healthcare delivery with a mean score of 3.26 to 3.85 and a standard deviation of 1.07 to 1.36, fourteen (14) challenges faced among healthcare professionals in the delivery of healthcare with a mean score of 3.23 to 3.60 and standard deviation of 1.20 to 1.36. It was also found that perceive effect and challenges of telemedicine have significant effect in healthcare delivery.
