520			_aABSTRACT The issue of human rights still remains a major challenge in post-conflict subSaharan Africa in present times, despite profound interest and efforts in addressing related cases of human rights. Measuring the evolving trends of grave abuses of human rights perpetrated as well as the prospects for promoting justice in postconflict sub-Saharan Africa, prior to the 1990s and the earliest part of the 21st century, the study commenced with a brief review of related literature. Thus, the study firstly aimed to examine the concept and impacts of the situation of human rights in Liberia as a post-conflict community in sub-Saharan Africa and how it borders on international legal instruments (UDHR and the Rome Statute). Secondly, to assess the education of the Liberian society on human rights as well as make appropriate recommendations for law reforms and institution rebuilding in Liberia. Thirdly, to redefine and analyze the role and influence of international law on Liberia’s domestic law in the context of human rights violations. Generally, the study would help to bridge the existing gap in research knowledge on the subject of human rights in post-conflict sub-Saharan Africa. Specifically, the study would elevate discourses of human rights and contribute to addressing the current problem. The findings of the study confirmed that armed conflict is still a major issue pervading the continent. The study also concluded that the situation of human rights in the sub-region and specifically Liberia is largely measured by key factors, including the rule of law, security, governance, etc. Keywords: Africa, Human Rights, Liberia, Post-Conflict, Rethinking, Sub-Saharan
