520 _aABSTRACT Effective Communication is a vital tool for the improvement of employees’ productivity in any organization, including manufacturing industry. It can help an organization in several ways as it plays a role in not only employees management and productivity but also in product development and customer relations which also have significant connection with employee’s productivity. Employees therefore serve as key audience because they generally represent the conduit to other audiences. The efficient involvement and engagement of employees often result in strong communications with other constituencies as well. Effective communication can also be channeled towards other aspects in an organization such as resources and policies formulation. This work will therefore attempt to examine the activities of the various departments with the impact of effective communication on the productivity, performance and harmony of the employees and the resultant growth in Kam Industries Limited (KIL), Ilorin, Nigeria. The data used in this work were obtained through the use of questionnaires with simple random sampling technique adopted. Out of the 80 questionnaires issued out to the employees at KIL, 68 returned valid. Collected data were entered into the Microsoft Excel (2016) software and transferred into the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) where descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. The findings from this study have revealed that at Kam Industries Limited, vertical upward, vertical downward and horizontal communication types have strong significant correlation with employees’ performance. It therefore demonstrates that effective communication in a manufacturing industry is a positive predictor of employees’ productivity.
