520 _aABSTRACT Tourism encompasses the activities undertaken by individuals who travel to and temporarily reside in destinations outside their habitual environment for no longer than one continuous calendar year. The primary objective of such travel is to engage in various forms of leisure, including recreational and business-related pursuits, while explicitly excluding any intention to relocate permanently. The study aimed to ascertain the effect of the perception of tourism development on satisfaction and community well-being. The study selected Alaogbaga Deity. The Alaogbaga deity is located in Chokoneze town in Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area. The sample size used for the study was three hundred and fifty (350). The study used judgmental sampling was used to select all the 350 respondents. The study used questionnaires to collect the data from the respondents. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS software program. The information from the matrix correlation analysis shows that tourism development has a positive and significant relationship with satisfaction and community well-being. The regression analysis shows that tourism development positively and significantly affects satisfaction and community well-being. Based on the results from the regression analysis, the alternative hypotheses were accepted, indicating that tourism development has a significant effect on satisfaction and community well-being.
