520 _aThe research methodology employed in this thesis involves a comprehensive survey conducted among executives and cybersecurity professionals in the banking and finance sector. The survey data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using statistical techniques, including descriptive statistics and regression analysis. The findings from the survey provide a detailed understanding of the current state of cybersecurity in the banking and finance sector, including the most common types of cyber threats faced by financial institutions, the cybersecurity strategies employed by these institutions, and the effectiveness of these strategies. Furthermore, the survey results were supplemented with in-depth interviews with selected participants, providing additional insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with cybersecurity in the industry. Overall, this thesis contributes to the ongoing discussion on cybersecurity in the banking and finance sector and provides practical recommendations for financial institutions to enhance their cybersecurity posture.
