520 | _aThe thesis aims to do a qualitative comparative analysis of character psychology in “Home Fire” written by Kamila Shamsie and “White Teeth” written by Zadie Smith while employing psychoanalytical theory. The research also aims to unravel unconscious desires, transformations and conflicts embedded within the main characters of these novels. The study uses qualitative analysis to analyze psychoanalytical themes, facilitating a nuanced exploration of character psychology. The researcher takes into consideration the contextual and cultural dimensions, identifying the thoughtful impact of cultural influence on character psychology. In the contemporary literature, the thesis aims to shed a light on the interplay between cultural contexts, character development, and psychoanalytical theory. This study shed light on the complexity of postcolonial identity building by comparing and analyzing the psychoanalytic analysis of "Home Fire" by Kamila Shamsie and "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith. The results showed complicated relationships between the characters' psyches and their cultural settings. In addition, a deeper comprehension of the interaction of history, culture, and psychology in modern literature has been achieved by analyzing the mental threads that run through both works to provide complex descriptions of the effects of colonial legacies on social identities. | ||
