502 _aThesis (MBA) - Cyprus International University. Institute of Graduate Studies and Research Business Administration
520 _aThis thesis investigates the influence of demographic variables on knowledge sharing among employees in a service organization in Nigeria. The study aims to uncover how factors such as gender, age, educational level, cultural background, marital status, employee tenure, position, and department impact knowledge sharing behaviors within the organization. The research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing survey data collected from a sample of employees within the service organization. Statistical analyses, including independent sample t-tests and ANOVA, were conducted to examine the relationships between demographic variables and knowledge sharing scores. The findings reveal significant differences in knowledgesharing behavior based on certain demographic variables. Specifically, gender and educational level were identified as significant predictors of knowledge sharing. Male employees demonstrated higher knowledge-sharing scores than their female counterparts, suggesting a gender-based difference in sharing knowledge within the organization. Additionally, employees with higher educational levels exhibited more excellent knowledge-sharing tendencies, indicating the influence of educational attainment on knowledge exchange. Interestingly, age, cultural background, marital status, employee tenure, position, and department did not show significant associations with knowledge sharing behavior. These results suggest that these demographic variables may have limited impact on employees' willingness or ability to share knowledge within the service organization. These findings have practical implications for fostering a knowledge sharing culture within service organizations in Nigeria. Strategies such as promoting diversity and inclusion, developing training programs on effective communication and knowledge sharing techniques, and establishing knowledge sharing platforms can enhance knowledge sharing practices among employees. Furthermore, recognizing and rewarding knowledge sharing efforts, encouraging cross-functional collaboration, and providing mentorship opportunities can further facilitate knowledge exchange within the organization.
