520 _aA photovoltaic system with a hybrid storage system that includes a ultracapacitor (UC), a battery, and a load is used in the study to analyze the utility of ultracapacitors as an improved supported storage. The study also looks at the most effective manner for distributing the energy between the power source and the load. Batteries may go through unsteady, partly periods of charge/discharge due to PV generation and load demand fluctuate constantly. The rating and life of the battery are negatively impacted. Due to their low energy density as well as low charging and discharging rates, batteries are employed in the proposed approach to manage out slow-changing peaks in power, while ultracapacitors (UC) are used to manage out fast-changing peaks in power due to their high density of energy as well as high charging and discharging rates. The outcomes of the simulation through MATLAB/Simulink demonstrate the benefits of the suggested control technique, which include: 1) quicker voltage control; 2) lower battery charge/discharge current rates; 3) lower Battery's current strain rates; 4) increased battery life; and 5) lower computational load. Furthermore, the suggested approach can keep the DC grid voltage constant even when PV generation and load demand step up and down. In addition, SOC doesn't change significantly as the battery is being charged or discharged.
