Özet notu ABSTRACT<br/>The synthesis of nanoparticles using biomaterials is known as green nanotechnology, and it aims <br/>to promote environmentally sound and long-lasting technologies. This study focuses on the <br/>straightforward and sustainable production of iron sulphate nanoparticles using an aqueous <br/>extract of Laurus nobilis L. leaves. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Fourier transform infrared <br/>(FT-IR), and ultraviolet-visible (UV-visible) spectroscopy were used to characterize the <br/>nanoparticles. The outcomes demonstrated that the nanoparticles had a crystalline structure, <br/>were mostly spherical, and had only a small number of hexagonal particles. Zeta analysis <br/>determined that the average size of the nanoparticles was 60.0 nm. The extraction by maceration <br/>yield was 10.07% of the total yield. Additionally, six different bacterial species were used to <br/>examine the nanoparticles' antimicrobial effectiveness. The nanoparticles created using this <br/>green manufacturing approach showed promising antioxidant and antibacterial properties. <br/>Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and <br/>steroids, all of which are important in transforming iron sulfate into iron nanoparticles with <br/>antibacterial and antioxidant properties. With inhibition zones ranging from 15 to 25 mm, the <br/>extracts, and iron nanoparticles showed significant antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, <br/>Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, <br/>Listeria pneumonia. Using the MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) assays, the <br/>effectiveness of Laurus nobilis extracts against the above-mentioned bacterial strains was <br/>assessed. MIC values for L. nobilis extracts were 0.201 0.01 mg/mL for L. pneumophila, 0.602 <br/>0.15 mg/mL for S. aureus, 0.654 0.04 mg/mL for E. coli, 0.51 0.02 mg/mL for E. faecalis, and <br/>0.38 0.05 mg/mL for P. aeruginosa. Additionally, all of the examined microbes were resistant <br/>to the antibacterial effects of gentamycin and iron nanoparticle concentrations.<br/>Keywords: Antibacterial, Antioxidant, Green Synthesis, Laurus nobilis<br/>Nanotechnology, Phytochemical Screening
