Özet notu ABSTRACT<br/>The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between time management <br/>skills and teacher burnout in Lagos, Nigeria. Effective time management skills have <br/>been identified as a potential factor in preventing teacher burnout, whose prevalence <br/>in educational contexts has a substantial impact on teachers' well-being and job <br/>performance. For this study, 300 teachers from elementary and secondary schools in <br/>Lagos State were selected from a pool of more than 3,000 teachers. Utilising a <br/>quantitative methodology, data were collected via an online questionnaire. The <br/>questionnaire was adapted from previous studies conducted by Demerouti et al. (2008) <br/>for assessing burnout behaviour and White et al. (2013) for measuring time <br/>management, ensuring the instrument's reliability and validity. The surveys included <br/>measurements of job satisfaction, burnout, time management, and workload. To <br/>examine the relationship between burnout and time management, statistical analyses, <br/>including correlation analysis, were conducted while controlling for relevant <br/>demographic and work-related variables. Higher levels of burnout were found to be <br/>associated with lower levels of time management competence. The study also <br/>highlighted the moderating effect of teacher workload, indicating that the demands <br/>placed on teachers moderated the relationship between burnout and time management. <br/>These results highlight the importance of addressing teacher burnout and assisting <br/>educators in developing time management skills. Interventions aimed at enhancing <br/>teachers' time management skills and decreasing their workload have the potential to <br/>reduce teacher burnout and improve their well-being. In addition, this study <br/>contributes to the existing literature by investigating the relationship between burnout <br/>and time management skills in Nigerian institutions, specifically in Lagos. <br/>Understanding the unique challenges faced by teachers in this region can help <br/>policymakers and educational stakeholders develop targeted strategies to promote <br/>teacher well-being and enhance the educational experience.<br/>Keywords: Nigerian Schools, Teacher Burnout Level, Time Managements Skills
