Özet notu This thesis examines the critical role of digital technologies in architecture restoration<br/>and preservation, highlighting their impact, benefits, challenges, and transformative<br/>potential. The literature review indicates these technologies boost efficiency,<br/>precision, and sustainability in conservation practices, yet pose challenges like data<br/>loss and ethical issues. Through detailed case studies, including the digital restoration<br/>of Notre-Dame Cathedral, the reconstruction of Dresden Frauenkirche, and the<br/>conservation efforts for the Colosseum, this research showcases the application of laser<br/>scanning, 3D modeling, and virtual reality in preserving cultural heritage. These<br/>technologies have not only revolutionized the documentation of historical structures,<br/>enabling accurate digital replicas for assessment and restoration but also facilitated the<br/>analysis of architectural heritage, aiding decisions in restoration processes through<br/>data visualization and modeling. Furthermore, digital archives enhance access to<br/>historical data, deepening understanding of architectural evolution. The integration of<br/>digital technology with architectural restoration marks a significant shift in preserving<br/>cultural heritage. Addressing the challenges of digital technology in restoration is<br/>crucial, with concerns including potential data loss due to technological obsolescence<br/>and ethical considerations with advanced technologies like 3D printing. Balancing<br/>innovation with authenticity is key, emphasizing the importance of backup strategies,<br/>ethical guidelines, and technological innovation to mitigate risks and maintain the<br/>integrity of cultural heritage. The thesis supports its findings with case studies and data<br/>analysis, examining practical applications of digital technology in real-world<br/>restoration projects. The implications of these technologies are far-reaching,<br/>enhancing efficiency and sustainability while ensuring the faithful preservation of<br/>intricate details. Recommendations for future research include refining tools and<br/>methods for improved accuracy, fostering collaboration among experts, and<br/>developing educational initiatives to prepare the next generation of professionals in<br/>the responsible and effective use of digital tools.
