This thesis investigates the influence of demographic variables on knowledge sharing<br/>among employees in a service organization in Nigeria. The study aims to uncover<br/>how factors such as gender, age, educational level, cultural background, marital<br/>status, employee tenure, position, and department impact knowledge sharing<br/>behaviors within the organization. The research adopts a quantitative approach,<br/>utilizing survey data collected from a sample of employees within the service<br/>organization. Statistical analyses, including independent sample t-tests and ANOVA,<br/>were conducted to examine the relationships between demographic variables and<br/>knowledge sharing scores. The findings reveal significant differences in knowledgesharing<br/>behavior based on certain demographic variables. Specifically, gender and<br/>educational level were identified as significant predictors of knowledge sharing.<br/>Male employees demonstrated higher knowledge-sharing scores than their female<br/>counterparts, suggesting a gender-based difference in sharing knowledge within the<br/>organization. Additionally, employees with higher educational levels exhibited more<br/>excellent knowledge-sharing tendencies, indicating the influence of educational<br/>attainment on knowledge exchange. Interestingly, age, cultural background, marital<br/>status, employee tenure, position, and department did not show significant<br/>associations with knowledge sharing behavior. These results suggest that these<br/>demographic variables may have limited impact on employees' willingness or ability<br/>to share knowledge within the service organization. These findings have practical<br/>implications for fostering a knowledge sharing culture within service organizations<br/>in Nigeria. Strategies such as promoting diversity and inclusion, developing training<br/>programs on effective communication and knowledge sharing techniques, and<br/>establishing knowledge sharing platforms can enhance knowledge sharing practices<br/>among employees. Furthermore, recognizing and rewarding knowledge sharing<br/>efforts, encouraging cross-functional collaboration, and providing mentorship<br/>opportunities can further facilitate knowledge exchange within the organization. |
