'Summary / Abstract The aim of this study is historical and architectural research of the monuments,which were built in T.R.N.C. during the Ottoman Period. In T.R.N.C. the value that is given th the historical environment and architecture is not only important bul also valid in order to converse the character of the city as well.Beside this,it is closely related with tourism.Therefore,it should be more attractive and effective in T.R.N.C. This means that natural environent and architectural monuments will support tourism and contribute to the economy. Apart from this,with this work,documental richness and qualification of monuments,which is datum of our cultural heritage.The original free-hand drawings of the master of the teachers Nr. Bedri KÖKTEN have been given.The steps of the thesis,can be summarised as follows: Economic life and functional use should be given to the old places.With this system,historical knowledge and cultural heritage by place mediation to the next generation can be possible.In the protection of charecteristics of architectural monuments,most important priority and rather urgent subjects should be considered.As a summary the work includes these kinds of datum and documents. The first section of thesis is formed in a system,with five sections.The factors,which affect the Ottoman Period of Turkish Architecture,are viewed in general. In the second sectioni,the development and charecteristics of the Ottoman Period of Turkish architectural monuments in T.R.N.C. are examined throughout historical process. In the third section,the factors on the island about climate,geology,geography etc...and the short history of three big cities,Nicosia(the capital city),Kyrenia and Famagusta are given. In fourth section,the architectural monuments,which exist in T.R.N.C. and belong to the Ottoman Period,are examined from the point of view of architecture. In the fifth section,general things,which have been done and not done,are discussed with offers for "Nicosia City And The Conversation Of Place Identitty".As aan aim of this study,in particularly the offers,which belong to the contemporary protection study of "Dervish Pasha Mansion" and investigation are examined. Özet Bu çalışma,Osmanlı Dönemi'nde,Kıbrıs'ta yapılmış olan önemli eserlerin,mimari ve tarihi açıdan örneklerle incelenmesini içermektedir. Adada,tarihi çevre ve mimari eserlere verilecek değer ile kent ve mekan kimliğinin korunmasına özellikle yer verilmesi gerekmektedir.Bu,turizm denilen olguyla da çok yakından ilgilidir.Zira,bu olguyla turizmin K.K.T.C'de cazip bir hale dönüşmesi sağlanacaktır.Böylece K.K.T.C'de doğal çevre ile mimari eserler ekonomiye gittikçe artan bir şekilde;katkıda bulunabilecektir. Bu çalışmayla kültürel mimarımıza veribazı teşkil eden bazı eserlere,Sayın Bedri KÖKTEN Hocamızın orjinal çizimleriyle,belgesel zenginlikve nitelik kazandırılması da sağlanmıştır.Bu tür belgeleme çalışmalarından sonra yapılacak olan etkili işlemler ise,şöyle özetlenebilir:Eski mekanlara mutlaka verimli bir kullanma ve ekonomik hayatiyet kazandırılmalıdır.Ancak bu tür yaklaşımlarla,tarihsel bilginin ve kültürel mirasın mekan aracılığı ile gelecek kuşaklara iletilebilmesi,gerçek anlamda mümkün olabilir. Eski kent dokusunu oluşturabilecek karakteristik mimari eserlerin çevreleriyle birlikle korunması öncelikle ve de ivedilikle ele alınması gereken bir husustur.Çalışma,bu tür konular ile verileri,belgeleri ve önerileri kapsaması yanında,ayrıca K.K.T.C'ye ait "kültürel harita"nın oluşturulmasına katkıda bulunacak bilimsel bir içerik taşımaktadır. Beş bölümden oluşan tezin birinci bölümünde,Osmanlı Dönemi'nde Türk mimarisini etkileyen etkenler,genel olarak,ele alınmıştır. İkinci bölümde,tarih süreci içinde K.K.T.C'deki Osmanlı dönemi mimari eserlerinin gelişimi ve karakteristikleri incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde,ada genelinde,iklimsel,jeolojik,coğrafi v.b. çevresel faktörlerle birlikte Lefkoşa,Girne ve Mağusa kentlerine ait kısa tarihçe verilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde,Kuzey Kıbrıs'ta bugün mevcut olan,Osmanlı Dönemi'ne ait tarihi eserler mimari yönüyle incelenmiştir. Beşinci bölümde,genelde "Lefkoşa Kenti ve Mekan Kimliği'nin Korunması"konusunda,neler yapılıp nelerin yapılmadığı tartışılmış,önerilerde bulunulmuş,özelde "Derviş Paşa Konağı"nın çağdaş koruma çalışmasına ait bazı önerilerde bulunulmuş ve irdelenmesi yapılmıştır. Ek: 1'de,Derviş Paşa Konağı'nda uygulamaya dönük bir koruma,onarım ve çevre düzenleme örneğinin nasıl ele alındığı görsel olarak,değişik tarihlerde incelenmiş ve tezin sonunda belgeleri ile sunulmuştur.
