'Abstract Turkay and his purpose is to search the scientific elements of the public. Turkay's works, which reveal the cultural values and the education of the new generations, allow an individual to contemporary cultural mosaic. Türkay mentioned in his books about many aspects of the life of island such as food, culture and history of the island also he explained many cultural patterns to his book with simple and streamlined language. Prof. Dr Ali Rıza Balaban's "Yöntembilim Düzenleme İçinde Halk Bilimi'nin Konulari" based on systematic entitled is used in order to remove a correct manner folkloric patterns that are mentioned in the Türkay's books. The study consist of three parts. The first part of this study includes the Osman Türkay background, his works and also it is composed of the works which are examined. The second part of the study, the folkoric patterns which are found in Osman Türkay's books and it will examine this subject according to Ali Riza Balaban's book which name is the "Yöntembilim Düzenleme İçinde Halk Bilimi'nin Konulari". The third section examines in works of other cultural elements. Key words: Osman Türkay; Cyprus Folk Culture; Cultural Patterns. Özet Osman Türkay'ın yazdığı "7 Telli (1959), Uyurgezer (1969), Bethoven'de Aydınlığa Uyanmak (1970), Evrenin Düşünde Gezgin (1971), Seçme Şiirler (1950-1990), (1990), Edebiyat, Eleştiri ve Dil Üstüne Düşünceler (1993), Ölümsüzlük Acısı (1999)" adlı eserlerindeki halk bilimsel öğeler araştırılmıştır. Osman Türkay, eserlerini kültür değerlerimizi ortaya çıkartan yeni kuşakların çağdaş bir birey olarak yetişmesine imkan sağlayan, kültürel mozaik ile beslemiştir. Türkay, eserlerindeki sade ve akıcı dili ile adanın tarihinden, yemeklerine birçok kültürel motife değinmiştir. Bu motifleri, eserlerin içerisinden doğru bir yöntemle saptamak için Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza Balaman'ın "Yöntembilim Düzenleme İçinde Halk Bilimi'nin Konuları" başlıklı sistematiği esas alınmıştır. Çalışmamız üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmamızın birinci bölümünde Osman Türkay'ın özgeçmişi ve incelenen eserleri bulunmaktadır. İkinci bölümde Osman Türkay'ın eserlerinde karşılaşılan halkbilimsel unsurların, Ali Rıza Balaman'ın "Yöntembilim Düzenleme İçinde Halk Bilimi'nin Konuları" başlıklı sistematiğine göre incelenmesi yer almaktadır.
