ABSTRACT
A High sustainability health system is demanded to face the global increase of patient ‘demands on the quality of healthcare service. The implementation of patient-centered care depends on the ability of health workers to meet patient's health needs and demands; hence their satisfaction deserves consideration. Little is known about the internal service provided to health worker that drives their job satisfaction and ability to provide efficient patient care. This research aims to examine the effect of internal service quality and the nurse’s perception of learning organization on their job satisfaction in public hospitals in Cameroon. Moreover, the research aims to investigate the mediating effect of the perception of learning organization between internal service quality and job satisfaction of nurses in public hospitals. A survey was carried out in three public hospitals in Cameroon. Four hundred questionnaires were distributed from 20 February to 25 March 2017. The linear regression analysis and Sobel test were used for analysis. The influence of internal service quality and learning organization on job satisfaction of health workers was significant and positive. Besides, there is a full mediation effect of the perception of learning organization in the relationship between internal service quality and job satisfaction. The internal service quality and the perception of learning organization practices contribute to enhancing the job satisfaction of nurses. Managers in health care industry should be aware of the factors that foster job satisfaction, and provide a high quality of internal services that incorporate learning organization activities, to enhance the existing medical skills and improve the health service delivery.
