ABSTRACT
The sub-region of West Africa is currently beset by conflict, which is one of the most

desecrated as a result of conflicts for power and sovereignty, resource allocation, and
identity politi. Individuals or groups in certain social and physical situations have
varied opinions, interests, goals, and aspirations, which leads to conflict. Conflict is
unavoidable, and it there must be acceptance to anticipate it at all times. As a result,
there must be a built management systems for resolving conflicts, with the capacity to
always benefit from the positive or functional parts of the phenomena while controlling
the negative aspects. This thesis will use qualitative research design and secondary
data as research method. The report conducts a review of the literature that leads to a
better understanding of the Liberian and Sierra Leonean civil wars. It primarily focuses
on the United Nations' role in resolving international conflicts. The broad
research objectives include conducting an intellectual examination and proposing a
foundation for long-term peace in the two countries.
