ABSTRACT
Organizations that perform well are created by the requirements and needs of the
designated consumers and the item they are offering ought to be unique in relation to
the competitor item (innovation) and furthermore have more viability in contrast with
the competitor and that the item assists with building competitive advantage (Prahalad
& Hamel, 2011). Meanwhile, this study is led toward examining the effect of
Innovation Process (IP), Roles and Responsibility (RoR), Rewards and Recognition
(ReR), and Capabilities Development (CD) on the performance of organization (POO)
in Sierra Leone small and mid-sized enterprises.
However, the main approach adopted is a quantitative research method consisting of
both survey and descriptive research design in other to attain the research objective
using a questionnaire as the instrument and the questionnaire was distributed
electronically to 240 employees in each of the 12 SMEs companies (12 x 20) via
convenience sampling in Freetown of Sierra Leone to partake in the online survey
where 211 questionnaires were returned and tested for reliability.
Therefore, the result of this research work demonstrates that there is an effect of
rewards and recognition (ReR) of organizational innovation on the performance of an
organization (POO) in Sierra Leone small and mid-sized enterprises which is
hypothesis three thereby, rejecting hypothesis one, two, and four.
