ABSTRACT
Constantly changing environment of modern business has led to high competition among
rivals, and creativity has become a crucial factor in success of organizations. Architecture
industry, in particular demands creativity and innovative behavior from employees.
Authentic leadership has been found as an appropriate leadership style to cultivate
aforementioned desired behaviors. On the other hand, motivation has been found as a
significant factor influencing the creative and innovative behavior of staff. This study has
employed a deductive quantitative approach to examine the influence of authentic
leadership on creativity and innovative work behavior through intrinsic motivation. The
findings of PLS-SEM analysis reveals that authentic leadership is positively correlated
with creativity, innovative work behavior and intrinsic motivation, while intrinsic
motivation does not mediate the authentic leadership-creativity and authentic leadership innovative work behavior relationships. The insignificant relationships may be due to
existence of other mediators involved in the aforementioned relationships, which can be
investigated by future studies. The theoretical and practical implications of findings have
been elaborated in the final chapter.
